Following the acquisition of DSG Group the first of our in-house designed powered access products went into service in late 2010. This product with some minor modification would eventually go on and in 2012 become the specified ramp for the New Bus for London. After the initial 8 demonstrator vehicles the ramp was installed up to the introduction of the Mk2 bus.
The fully electric single board ramp utilised a drop floor section to achieve the correct angle of deployment. It was innovative in that it was the first ramp to feature our sacrificial front edge. Impact damage that would have previously led to expensive repairs was limited to the front section that could be removed with two screws.
This ramp has a limited number of spare parts and moving components in comparison to other ramps in the market. It is designed with minimum maintenance in mind and with simple removal of the ramp cassette from the vehicle.
